Wild Inks

Friday and Saturday, May 6th-7th 2022

Come join Katie for her Wild Inks: Forage Where You Are workshop, hosted in Gaston Oregon by OldeGrowth LLC. Friday May 6th and  Saturday May 7th, gift yourself this experience, or perhaps a mother in your life.

Fully immerse yourself in foraging and creating. Gather on Friday afternoon to learn hands-on to forage for your own inks and pigments, learn about the history of natural inks, and Katie’s journey to creating them. Then share a sunset dinner prepared with many ingredients grown on-site or within 30 miles. Enjoy some wild-crafted ferments and a campfire, perhaps with sing-alongs. Then camp on the property (included in your registration fee) or let us help you to find nearby accommodations. On Saturday, wake up to hot coffee and a light breakfast in the front yard and enjoy watching our ducks and goats start their days before embarking on the rest of the workshop. See what colors have emerged from yesterday’s foraging, spend some more time learning about foraging for colors, and then work with one of the templates provided by Katie, or begin with a blank canvas to create your own work of art. Walk away shortly after noon with your own foraged painting, as well as some ink for later, and a few goodies in an Olde Growth gift bag crafted specially for this workshop. If you would like to continue working, feel free to stay on the property painting into the afternoon.
